You’re 33 today. A baker’s dozen of years ago, you became the first black person of any nationality or gender to win a gold medal in gymnastics when you and the rest of the “Magnificent Seven” came in first during the Atlanta Olympics.
Since then, you’ve tried your hand at acting — appearing in Prince’s music video “Betcha By Golly Wow” and Missy Elliott’s 2006 video “We Run This” — as well as serving as president of the Women’s Sports Federation and becoming a motivational speaker. Earlier this year, you were inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. And now you get a beer. What’s a bigger honor?
