You’re running against billionaire incumbent New York mayor Michael Bloomberg in what everyone knew from the beginning would be an uphill battle. You’re holding your own — just barely — but odds of you pulling off the upset during next week’s election are super, exceedingly low, as in even lower than the anticipated turnout.
That said, you seem like a nice guy and are running a relatively dirt-free campaign, while Mr. Mayor attacks. And attacks. And attacks.
You’ll have a future as a politician yet. Perhaps your best bet would be to go quietly into the night and return in a couple months. Here’s a beer to keep you occupied.
